Proud Cricket hits off again for 2019.

In partnership with Proud 2 Play, Cricket Victoria received funding from the VicHealth Innovation Challenge for our ‘Proud Cricket’ initiative. Proud Cricket is designed to improve equity, diversity and inclusiveness by supporting clubs with education to create more inclusive club practices and improve club culture. The idea of the program is to improve education and embed a better participation pathway for LGBTI+ people with an overall aim to increase the participation of the Victorian LGBTI+ community within cricket. Proud2Play events hitting sixes for LGBTI inclusion in cricket.

This Sunday sees the return of Proud 2 Play and Cricket Victoria’s Proud Cricket Day, and the Sydney Sixers will promote LGBTI inclusion at the team’s first ever Pride Match this month. Members of the LGBTI community in Victoria have been invited to the new CitiPower Centre at Junction Oval in St Kilda to take part in a range of activities. Proud Cricket Day is open to everyone regardless of experience level, and especially if you have never tried playing cricket before.
