Festival of Sport

Kardinia Park

Geelong

VIC

Join us for a jam-packed afternoon of FREE family fun and entertainment prior to the Melbourne Renegades match on December 30th.

First held in 2018, The Festival of Sport is a celebration of physical activity, health and sport in our region.

Held  in Geelong’s iconic sporting heart, Kardinia Park; the Festival is a  much-loved event for providing hours of inclusive, free fun for all.

As  with many events, the Festival of Sport took a break in 2020 and 2021  due to COVID-19, so we are thrilled and excited to welcome it back this  Summer.

Featuring over 20 interactive sporting experiences and displays on Kardinia West oval – we promise to get everyone moving.

On  top of Australian sporting staples such as Aussie Rules, cricket,  rugby, netball and tennis, participants will have the unique opportunity  to try Disc golf, ninja skills, Japanese drumming, Nerf zone and much  more.

When its time for a rest from  the Come and Try activities, visitors can enjoy a picnic or peruse the  food trucks menu while enjoying performances on the Festival Stage.

See you at the Festival!

Being with the Chargers is a great way to make new friends, keep fit and even travel the world.

Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for exercising and bring your own sunscreen and water bottle. We'll have lunch following the session too, so please register and let us know if we need to cater to any special requirements!

We're looking forward to meeting you soon!

Quadball Come and Try

Fawkner Park

South Yarra

VIC

Looking to do something fun and social? Want to get some exercise while expanding your social circle? Or just looking for something to do on a Sunday morning? Then check out Quadball!

It's terrific fun and attracts terrific people, and we're some of those people! It's hard to notice how much exercise you're doing while adjusting to the fact that 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘴.

You don't need to be a HP fan to enjoy this fun, inclusive sport: literally anyone over the age of 16 is welcome.

If you do know Harry Potter things, you'll probably be glad to know that:

- Bludgers are not magical bowling balls, and will not endeavour to break your limbs (they're actually dodgeballs, but don't tell anyone!)

- The seeker is an 𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 valued part of the team, and the snitch is worth 30 points, not 150

Quidditch also fosters a highly inclusive community that will encourage you to do your best regardless of your gender, sporting background or confidence!

If you fancy giving it a try, come to either (or BOTH) of our free tryouts!

Feel free to message us if you have any questions 😊

Nomads Cycling to the West

Victoria Park

Abbotsford

VIC

Get fit and make new friends while enjoying some scenic bike paths.

A leisurely 20 km cycle from Victoria Park to the western  suburbs for a pub lunch - a great way to appreciate inner Melbourne's  parks and waterways.

From Victoria Park we'll pass by the Abbotsford Convent and Dights  Falls. We then follow the Merri Creek and the Inner Circle Rail Trail to  Royal Park, the Moonee Ponds Creek and Maribyrnong River Trails to  Footscray, and a trail through the Newmarket Saleyards estate to get to  our lunch spot.

We had originally intended having lunch at the Anglers Tavern,  overlooking the Maribyrnong River, but that won't be operational until  March as a result of the springtime Maribyrnong River flooding.

Instead  we'll be having lunch at the Doutta Galla Hotel, diagonally opposite the Newmarket train station.

After lunch there are links to various cycling routes if you wish to  cycle home, or the Newmarket Station is just across the road from the  pub.
